Why we need Animal Shelters.

In life I believe that animals are the key to making people happy and there are many people are who abuse animals, there are other people who are not able to take care of the animals. This is where animal shelters come in; theses shelters take in animals where they don’t have the resources to do so because there are no choice these animals are not able to take care of themselves.

The shelters are in such need because most of these shelters are very overcrowded and some of these shelters such as Pasadena Humane Society which is an “open door shelter”. An open door shelter is a shelter that takes in any animal no matter what the situation is. The shelter has ninety-nine dogs fifty-two cats and twenty-two other animals. This does not including the other dogs and cats that are not available for adoption due to medical issues and or behavioral issues that would be harmful to the animal or to the possible adopters.

There are so many animals that are in need of a good home. These animals are in need of a family who will love them and take care of them and give them a good and safe place to live. Although animals are in a need of a home the animal shelters do provide water food and shelter, which is better than living on the streets, which they struggle to find food and water. These shelters are a crucial to not only the animals but also to the people who love animals and can’t imagine a life without them. To me it is hard to be in a world where animals are not in my life, and without these shelters it will be hard to find an animal that you can love and take care of. This is why we need to help keep animal shelter doors open.

Tasty Treats--

It's always fun to share a treat with your best friend but many of the commerically made dog and cat snacks on the market today are over priced and under deliver. Rather than spend all your money on a questionable product and take a chance Fido or Fifi might not like it, why not make your own? Dollar for dollar, homemade treats are not only more economical, but it gives you a chance as a pet parent to know exactly what you're feeding your friend.

If you GOOGLE search homemade pet treats, you get thousands of hits. It's easy to narrow your search down by using specific key words (we searched peanut butter and chicken) or you can browse through them all until you find one that looks good. If you've clicked on any of the above recipes, you'll notice they all come from the website Bullwrinkle.com, a GREAT site with TONS of fun edible doggy treats.

If you don't feel like cooking but still want to be sure that your pet is getting the highest quality snacks, check out Bark for Peace! They make 100% organic dog snacks that are not only good for your pets, but people enjoy them too! Yum!

Okay, so your pets tummys are taken care of, but what about their fashion needs? Check out Tiny Dog Power, a fun website that takes what your dog is thinking and puts it on a shirt! Not only do you look good, but you're also helping out other animals in need as they donate 20% of all their profits to Animal Resuce organizations including the Idaho Humane Society.
